My Story

'All funds raised are for the hero's and angels in the NICU unit at Southmead'

On February 19th 2023, my good lady and special human, Stephanie, gave birth to our beautiful baby twins, Jasper & Cleo.

An unpleasant pregnancy, a non stop stay of five weeks in hospital for Steph after Jaspers waters went at 23 weeks, They made thier appearance at 28 weeks gestation, which was a collosal three months early.

On the day of thier birth, Steph underwent an emergency C section, with a team of 17 doctors, surgeons, anaesthetists and midwives. After a brief glimpse of our brand new babies they were whisked away.

Jasper had a collapsed lung, free air in his chest cavity, bleeding on the brain and the early prognosis was that he had around six hours to live. Cleo was the stronger baby but still with her battles, they were both taken away up to the Neonatal intensive care unit in which I was unable to see them for five hours, and Steph for a further eight hours.

These were dark times - to see our babies in incubators wired up and on ventilators, unable to cuddle them for days after thier birth.

Fast forward...to July 2023. Cleo had spent 75 days in NICU, Jasper 139 days and currently still under specialist care at The Children's hospital in Bristol...he's making great progress and we hope he will finally be able to come home soon!

In partnership with my gym, Kokoro fitness, we are looking to raise funds for the NICU , the team there are beyond incredible. Our babies are alive  and doing well, we cannot begin to comprehend how thankful we are for their care and support during our darkest times. They became our family, our rock and gave us support that was unrivalled ❤️

We are holding our gym summer fitness games this year to raise funds at our farm in Rangeworthy to try and give something back to this incredible team and we would like to raise as much as possible for this amazing unit, we cannot thank them enough!

Here is to the hero's and angel at NICU.
