My Story

Hey!

Our names are Sam and Katrina. We both work at North Bristol Trust and have taken on the HUGE challenge of skydiving from 15,000 ft on 8th July 2023 to fundraise for Southmead Hospital Charity.

A bit about us:

Sam - I am the Mortuary and Patient Affairs support Manager at Southmead Hospital. I am responsible for the after death service at North Bristol Trust. I have worked in the trust for the past 7 years and have a passion for providing the best service possible to patients and their loved ones. I was admitted as an emergancy a few years ago and the team worked quickly to identify the problem and saved my life! Im so grateful to the hospital for the care ive recieved and the care provided to others which is why i want to help the hospital by undertaking new challenges and raising funds for this amazing organisation and the people who work here. I have undertaken a few challenges over my time here, I have ran the Bristol Race for Life for Cancer Research, Ive ran the Bristol 10k for southmead Hospital and ive also taken part in the Dragon boat race at Bristol Harbourside for Southmead Hospital. This year, I wanted to push myself past my comfort zone and take on my biggest challenge to date - a skydive! Those who know me will know im not good with heights but im willing to push myself for this amazing cause!

Katrina - I am a Patient Pathway Assistant within the Urology Service at Southmead Hospital. I have worked in the Trust for the past year and i am responsible for ensuring the smooth running of patient pathways within the Urology Service. Although im relativly new to the Trust, I have learnt a lot and really enjoy working within the organisation and relate to the trust values. I am passionate about sports and have previously took part in several large events! I am always looking to challenge myself and wanted to incorporate my next event with supporting the hospital therefore this challenge is well suited for me! The skydive will be my biggest challenge to date and like sam, takes me out of my comfort zone!

Please note - the skydives are self funded therefore ALL funds raised will go directly to Southmead Hospital Charity.

Most people know someone who has received treatment at southmead Hospital and know how hard all the teams work to provide the best care possible to patients and their loved ones.

As this is such a big challenge, we are hoping to raise £1000 for the charity which will make a big impact on the hospital and those who work within it.

If you are able to donate towards this amazing cause, any amount donated is very appreciated and we can not thank you enough!

If you would like to come and support us on the day, the details of the jump are:

 8th July 2023, Go Skydive, Sailsbury, SP4 6EB

Wish us luck!
